About William Lunka

William J. Lunka is the founder and owner ofSALT Partners, a state and local consulting firm in Minneapolis. Bill has more than 30 years of state tax experience. Prior to joining SALT Partners, Bill was a Director of State and Local Taxes at Grant Thornton LLP and a Senior Manager at Deloitte Tax LLP. Bill has has experience in all aspects of State and local tax services. Bill was previously employed by the Minnesota Department of Revenue where he served as the Department’s litigation manager. In that role he worked on large corporate income and sales tax controversies. Prior to managing litigation for the Department, Bill served as the Department’s corporate technical manager. In that role he was the Department’s senior technical adviser for the Corporate Income and Sales Tax Division. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and has presented at a number of regional and national tax conferences.
