Through my professional career I am the guy that 'gets it done.' My most recent experience has been as the 'Implementation Specialist' and 'Data Analyst' building marketing databases for banks and credit unions on 4 different business intelligence software platforms. I have worked with financial institutions since 1991 and can communicate with my customers as one of their co-workers. Financial institutions have wonderful mainframe databases that are really good at financial transactions and regular processes. The bad news is that they are really inefficient at doing custom ad-hock reporting and querying. Add to that, lots of the institution's business is NOT done on that mainframe.(Credit Cards, web based applications, insurance, demographics, and on and on.) A marketing database combines all of this information into a single application - and summarizes it by individuals and households. I help these institutions identify all of their data sources, and find a way to export the needed information into a standardized repeatable format that can then be imported into the marketing database and updated at regular intervals. Once the database is built I then build their lookup tables that are used to provide standardized labels for reporting.(Product codes, branch locations, sellers names, etc.) I then demonstrate their final database to them via WebEx for their approval, make final changes and deliver the database to them. Earlier, I also worked with financial institutions representing their information geographically on maps. I also worked in a heavy industrial engineering and manufacturing facility working with designers, industrial engineers, and manufacturing to get those designs built, as well as project management.
