Background
About William Lynch
My name is William Lynch and I hold a bachelor's degree in liberal arts with a Spanish major from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, along with a PGCEi with merit from The University of Nottingham. Both of these qualifications helped me establish a strong foundation in constructivist teaching and learning approaches in language acquisition and literature. I also graduated from Saint Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire, where I honed my self-discipline and study skills, which allow me to connect with students in academically demanding programs like the IB. I am en experienced, exuberant educator with an exceptional talent for connecting with students. I am currently working at Lyford Cay International School, a fully accredited United States State Department preferred international school on the island of New Providence in The Bahamas. I teach grade eight and grade ten English Language and Literature and grade seven Individuals and Societies at LCIS, which is widely regarded as one of the foremost international schools in the Caribbean region. Prior to joining LCIS, I worked at Northbridge International School, an IB World School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. At NISC, I taught a wide range of subjects: MYP English Language and Literature, MYP English Language Acquisition, MYP Individuals and Societies, DP English B and EAL support, where I proved that I am an adaptable teacher who can successfully facilitate inquiry-based learning. I joined NISC from Saint Joseph Convent School in Bangkok, Thailand, where I received an unprecedented, extraordinarily high level of feedback from students on a broad range of barometers related to my teaching efficacy. In addition to being a seasoned educator, I am also an experienced trainer and coach. I am currently one of the football coaches in the Elite Developmental Sports (EDS) programme at LCIS. During my time at Northbridge in Cambodia, I served as the senior boys football head coach and was also head coach of the inaugural track and field team. Furthermore, for five years prior to teaching abroad, I was a head coach and trainer for Peninsula FC, a well-regarded local travel soccer club in New Jersey. Additionally, I obtained an "F" and "E" license from New Jersey Youth Soccer. Lastly, I held individual track and field records in both high school and college; I held the 100-meter dash record for ten years at Saint Paul's School and the 400-meter dash record for eleven years at Hamilton College.
