About William M Golson

I am a U.S. military veteran who served in the Army for six years from 1978-1984 and was honorably discharged as a Sgt.My MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) was Infantry,serving in the 1st Division Infantry in Germany. My specific skillswere; Safety, Discipline, Security and Defense of US interest which included Drill exercises, patrolling and guard duty.From 2001-Present I've worked also in the Maritime industry both as deckhand and in the past year a deckhand/licensedDeck Officer (CPT). I am member of two unions, IBU and MEBA. Out of the SUP Union hall I've worked for thesemaritime companies,Golden Gate Fleet, Blue & Gold Fleet, Red and White Fleet, Foss, and Crowley Tugs. My tenureas a deckhand has been the safety, security and customer service of passengers including informing and directingtourist while maintaining an environmentally clean vessel and staying on schedule. I have participated in various distresscoordinated marine exercises in the Bay, monthly drills including the Cal maritime distressed vessel simulator exercisefor Masters. I hold an AB unlimited, lifeboat's, STCW w/Navigational Watch, Radar Observer(Unlimited),and a 100TonMasters license (Inland Waters). I have completed two diesel workshop courses; Walther Engineering and ModernSailing marine diesel course. I am familiar with USCG Rules and Regulations and I read and stay informed with thelatest Notice to Mariners pubs. I have participated in the navigation and piloting of vessels up too 100tons/ 169ft, andperforming pre-service vessel mechanical inspections. I trained new hires in and on all safety related issues and policyprocedures. I am currently renewing my Masters license and look forward to training/ working with your company whileoffering my record of experience, dependability, diligence and safety to your organization.
