About William McQueeney

Logic goes a long way. Technology has always played a big role in my life. I grew up with it, from my first Pentium 90 to smart phones everything has changed rapidly and drastically and I consider myself someone who has kept up with this ever changing world. I don't have any formal training, aside from a few College courses, but I am confident I know volumes more than any computer science degree can net you. I have been building/fixing computers and setting up networks since I was in Middle School (over 12 years), and I have been keeping up with technology as it has grown around me. One benefit of teaching yourself, in my opinion, is the ability to understand and interact with a large range of technologies, and to be comfortable handling new, unfamiliar products. The disciplines at the college level, at least where I attended (University of Connecticut) were too narrow and focused primarily on Software programming. Working in the field on and off since High School, and full-time the past few years have given me lots of confidence in the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new and old environments. I ended up studying Resource Economics and Environmental Policy at Uconn because I wanted to expand my knowledge on subjects that I believe are important for everyone and now play (whether we like it or not) a huge role in today's society and business environments. I already have the technical and computer skills to succeed in this day and age, but without understanding the global economy and where our planet, in terms of industry, energy and markets will be in the future, how can someone strive and grow at the same rate.
