About William Mollohan

I am a Medical Doctor (Osteopath) and Addictions Counselor. My medical career has included 32 years of Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine experience. Sixteen of those years I was an Emergency Room Physician. Three years of my career in Emergency Medicine I also served as the director of the emergency department. For twelve years I was the primary provider in my private practice with two locations in the Chicago area. This was a hands-on clinical medical practice. My practice was a seven day a week, walk- in clinic that served everyone from private pay patients to several low- income patients. Although I did hire several Physician's Assistants and a Chiropractor, I was very much involved with seeing my patients personally. During the time I was in private practice, I was also on staff at 6 local nursing homes. Throughout my career I also have been an adjunct professor for Rush Medical College and Midwestern University. Teaching is something I have always enjoyed, and I welcome the opportunity to return to in some respect. For the past several years I have been focusing on and taking courses in Addictions Counseling. Addictions Counseling/Medicine has been a long- standing personal goal and dream of mine for quite some time. This field resonates within me because of having a front row seat to the devastation of drug and alcohol abuse during my 16 years in Emergency Medicine, as well as witnessing the effects on individuals close to me. Now that my Addictions training has come to an end I am pursuing a career in Addictions Medicine/ counseling where I plan to put my recent education to good use to benefit my patients.
