About William Phillips

I have ten years of supervisory experience in unionized teir one and three plants. I have worked in materials, packaging, and assembly. Currently managing 46 operators in production. I am responsible for reporting out on scheduling conflicts, manning, handling union issues, assuring first piece compliance, timekeeping, KPI meetings with engineering, maintenance, zone leads, and superintendent as well as inventory reconciliation using ERP systems. I started working on the line in seating and worked my way up to a forklift driver, area lead, shipping clerk and finally a Supervisor. I believe this has given me the ability to look at things from an operators perspective as well as operational. Anywhere I work I feel it is absolutely detrimental to get a solid understanding of the day to day operations and means getting your hands dirty. One day I may be working a station the next driving a forklift. It gives you a better understanding of the processes and helps to motivate your team because they see that your willing and able to help the team succeed. I am constantly walking the floor looking for opportunities to both improve and motivate the team.
