Background
About William Pollock
MA, MPA, MPH, MSW | BCD-SUD (ABCSW)| MAC (NAADAC)| LCSW/CADC (OR)| LCSW (CO)| LCSW (TX)| LICSW (WA)| Behavioral Healthcare Provider | Clinical Social Worker | Alcohol and Drug Counselor | Continuity of Care (CoC) Specialist | Health and Wellness Educator | Case Management and Crisis Intervention | Harm Reduction and Trauma Informed Care | I am passionate about helping people overcome moderate to severe psychiatric mental health conditions and substance use disorders. My specialty focuses on adult populations (18-65 years old) whose mental health + substance use problems are inadequately managed and contribute to periods of houslessness, hospitalization, and/or incarceration. I believe all humans possess an inherent resolve to overcome insurmountable obstacles. While facing these challenges alone can feel overwhelming, with the proper support, there is very little we cannot achieve together. The efficacy of MH/SUD treatment is rooted in long-term, sustained change. To ensure the highest quality intervention, prioritizing continuity of care is essential at every level—especially in the community after graduating from an inpatient residential, intensive outpatient, or outpatient program. Typically, however, graduates are discharged from services without sufficient proactive follow up to maintain the progress achieved during treatment. This gap in support can often contribute to setbacks or relapse. Therefore, it is essential for all after care treatment plans to include community level access to consistent, reliable, low barrier services and support. My goal is to address this need by offering follow-up care, case management, and on-call crisis counseling to sustain the momentum gained in treatment and help individuals thrive. I am licensed at the highest level in addiction counseling and clinical social work. I hold four master's degrees in education, social work, public health, and public administration. For over a decade, I have worked in colleges, non-profits, jails, and hospitals serving people with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Society at large evokes and perpetuates trauma. The stigmas around mental illness, substance use, incarceration, and houselessness have never been more disparaging. I seek to help repair that narrative as a psychotherapist- but also an ally, advocate, and knowledgeable guide. Thank you for reading! Whether you are a patient, a provider, a community partner, or just browsing- I am grateful you are here and appreciate your time.
