About William Regan

I am a graduate from the University at Buffalo (UB), Master of Science degree in Accounting (2015) and Bachelor of Science in Accounting (2014). The University at Buffalo has a strong accounting program that equipped me with the skills needed to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). During my tenure at UB, I was also a member of the Men's Basketball team. The conflicting schedules required me to enhance my personal skills such as time management, communication, and teamwork in order to successfully compete in the classroom and on the court. In the classroom, I was able to maintain a competitive GPA of 3.63 in both the Graduate and Undergraduate programs while having to miss lectures for away games. This required me to be proactive communicating with my professors and group members to make sure I was handling my responsibilities.On the basketball court, I grew as an individual and learn valuable life skills. The most applicable is teamwork. In order for your team to reach its full potential the team needs to be willing to work harder for each other, but also make sacrifices for the best interest of the team. Over my last two seasons I was a team captain and helped lead the team to the University’s first ever Mid-American Conference Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. The experiences that I gained on the court are invaluable and have taught me how to work successfully with a team. I am thankful for all the opportunities I have had to compete in my hometown and help represent Buffalo on the national stage.The skills built through my collegiate experience have helped me transition into my role at Deloitte. The industry is highly competitive and team oriented with high expectations. Having the opportunity to challenge myself, grow as an individual and share my insight with fellow employees has been rewarding and helped establish me as a professional.
