About William Rutter

I am a scientist who understands the importance of data and analytics, having worked in the highly regulated world of Financial Services with a parallel academic career. I have a passion for climate and environmental science and the practical application of these in real-world situations, driving business towards SDGs and considering ESG within their operational planning. I have delivered my research at 13 international conferences, covering wide-ranging topics such as population density estimates, statistical modelling, and quantitative analysis of fossil coral distributions, all within the context of palaeontology, geophysics, structural geology, palaeoecology and palaeoclimatology. I have also been involved in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) related research as part of my role within the European Geoscience Union Pride working group. I have worked in Financial Services for over six years, with a strong understanding of regulatory and legislative frameworks and impacts on consumers. I have experience managing projects, delivering both improved customer satisfaction and FTE Savings, as well as academic projects. Further, as a small business owner, I have a solid understanding of digital commerce and the provision of digital services in both a B2B and B2C setting. In 2019 I was a regional finalist in the Early Career Geologist Award (Geological Society of London).
