About William Sacre

Employed as a medical doctor within the secondary care setting of the NHS since graduating in 2011, during which time extensive practical experience has been gained across several clinical specialties, in addition to optimisation of a diversity of non-clinical skills innate to the role. Education / teaching skills were further supported academically through a post-graduate certificate in medical education. During this period, professional examinations attained include completing full membership of the Royal College of Physicians, as well as Part 1 of the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists. Acquistion of the former allowed career progression and consequently to undertake a senior decision-making role within clinical teams. A two-year bespoke trust-based leadership and management clinical fellowship enabled a dedicated opportunity to engage in and develop both patient safety and workforce initiatives, as well as gaining a unique insight into the operational aspect of an NHS organisation, through direct engagement with executives, senior management and clinical leaders. Exposure during this role generated a passion for future NHS workforce planning, which has subsequently been facilitated at a national level through successful appointment to a post on the National Medical Director's clinical fellowship scheme.
