I started with Dolco Packaging a month after I graduated High School. I started at an entry level position where I quickly learned the job and started moving up. After a year, I wanted to get back into management. The best option for me was to transfer to the warehouse, I learned the jobs and then apply for a Lead position. I became a night shift lead after 3 years of learning and exceling at the jobs. I face many challenges over the tenure as the night shift lead. While my Supervisor was unavailable during the hours I worked, I had to make important decisions during my shift. I was also responsible for training new employees and with it being 3rd shift most of the new employees did not have experience. I provided unmatched support for my employees. If my employees needed assistance, I was there to help them. One example of this was a new employee that continued to make scanning errors. After talking to the employee I identified the cause of the issue and created something for him that decreased his missed scans instantly. During my first year as a Lead, the company brought in Infor LN and we started using that. I used any downtime I had to learn how the system worked. Learning the system and demonstrating my computer knowledge, I would eventually take the Material Planner position. In the beginning as the Material Planner, my job was to review Production Order (Material usage/Hours/Quantity Produced/etc.), Daily/Monthly/Yearly Cycle Counting. I have now expanded the role as a LN Super User to provide ERP/LN support to our Sales/Accounting/Production/Warehouse teams. I also provide LN support to other Dolco locations as well as some of the other Tekni-Plex's companies. I also provide technical support for our scanners and printers by troubleshooting and repairing devices.
