About William Stainer

In the last 10 years, I have been fortunate enough to work in aircraft engineering, working on military helicopters and commercial fixed-wing jets. I am well-organised, have a high safety ethic, and can operate under pressure in a commercial environment when required. In addition to my engineering skills, I have a pilot's license, and I am regularly involved at my gliding club. In my previous engineering role, I worked at AirTanker services at RAF Brize Norton as an aircraft technician, carrying out Heavy C checks on A330 aircraft. My role included working as part of a zonal team, occasionally, I would be required to help line operations carry out turnarounds under strict timeframes. In September 2020, I decided to further my career and undertake a degree in Aircraft Maintenance, gaining first-class honours and working towards my Part 66 B1 Licence. In addition to Airtanker, I have seven years of combined experience with Leonardo Helicopters. I undertook a 3-Year Craft Mechanical apprenticeship where I gained the necessary skills to become an Aircraft fitter. After graduation, I worked on aircraft transmissions as a skilled aircraft fitter for four years. My time in aviation has taught me a lot of skills and discipline. I have enjoyed my time in aircraft maintenance and hope to bring many related skills to new opportunities
