About William Stoddard

Mr. Stoddard is responsible for managing all engineering, planning and energy activities and evaluations for the Rockefeller Group Development Corp's properties on 6th and 7th Avenues in Manhattan, as well as RGDC’s projects outside NYC. He works closely with the RGDC development team on building acquisitions, due diligence and cost estimates. Mr. Stoddard joined The Rockefeller Group in 1978 as a staff engineer and has been promoted to various positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently he has served as Assistant VP, Engineering and Operations. During his tenure, Mr. Stoddard has directed several capital projects, including the installation of the central plant and the electrical substation in the G.E. Building. More recently he directed the replacement of the base building electrical distribution system and the installation of the tri-fuel refrigeration plant in the 48th Floor Time & Life Building. He has overseen the installation of fire alarm, building automation and security systems in over 20M ft. of Class A commercial buildings. Mr. Stoddard served on the Board of Directors and on the Energy and Codes Committees of BOMA-NY. He is an officer on the New York Energy Consumers Council where he was honored last year with their 2011 Energy Innovation Award. He is also a member of the Commercial Management Council of REBNY. He represented BOMA and the Real Estate Board of New York on the rewrite of the New York City Electrical Code Revision to better match the National Code. He served on the Electrical Code Interpretation Committee of the NYC DOB representing real estate interests for over ten years. He has been quoted in the New York Times and several other publications on his insight in the N.Y. commercial buildings industry, dealing with energy deregulation and the high cost of electricity. He was instrumental in winning the Sixth Avenue Association “Green Street Award” for Energy Saving Project of the Year for 1251 Avenue of the Americas.
