About William Stone

Over the past 20 years, I have worked in leadership roles with Save-A-Lot, Dollar Genera, The Childrens Place, and The Fresh Market. My career has been mostly in distribution and retail store management. Warehouse supervisor, warehouse manager, store manager, and asst. store manager are the roles i have held. I have supervised as few as 10 direct reports and as much as 80 direct reports. At times I have been accountable to more than 100 team members at a time. The size of the buildings i have worked in are ft store to a 1.4 million square ft warehouse. Over the years, i have learned that all this does not matter. Leadership is the one main important part to a successful leader. Getting to know your team, leading by example, being accessible, holding one accountable, addressing issues, giving open feedback constructively, giving recognition, always being positive, great communication, developing and promoting, planning, and sharing in success are just some of the traits of a great leader. Some of my major accomplishments are receiving a letter from the CEO, having a CEO use my power point presentation at a company meeting, helping re-locate facilities, help open several stores, opening a new store as the store manager, completing all orders and deliveries during a complete communication loss.(no internet, phones, or faxes) building several strong teams. breaking warehouse productivity records with two companies, having #1 numbers as store manager in shrink and customer service, developing recognition forms, helping turn around turnover at every assignment just to name a few.
