Consultant Radiologist with Subspecialty interest in Breast Imaging at Northwick Park and Director of Screening North London Breast Screening since January 1998. Graduated from University of Bristol Medical school in 1988 and acquired FRCR in 1996 having trained in Radiology at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals and Fellowship in Breast Imaging in Nottingham Breast Centre in 1997. Proficient in all aspects of breast imaging and intervention and early adopter of vacuum biopsy techniques in the UK introducing the technique to the UK in The MRI vacuum biopsy practice at Northwick Park established in has the largest volume in the UK with over 300 per annum. I have written in journals and textbooks and have given both proffered presentations and invited lectures to national and international audiences of radiologists, pathologists and surgeons. I have been Director of Screening at North London Breast Screening since and a QA Professional Clinical Advisor for London Screening Quality Assurance Service. I am an active member of Public Health England Breast Screening Radiology Clinical Professional Group and current. I was previously a member of the Clinical Cancer Leadership and Advisory Group for NHS London and NHS (England) Specialist Imaging Clinical Reference Group and served as chairs to Imaging Boards for North West London SHA, North London Cancer Network as well as Breast Tumour Board Chair for West London Cancer Network, London Cancer Alliance and Royal Marsden Partners Breast Pathway Chair. I have participated in standards setting in Imaging, Breast Imaging, Breast Cancer and Screening through regional, national and European groups which include RCR, Cancer Peer Review programmes and NICE Early and Advanced Breast Cancer guidance 2018. I am a current member of NICE Expert Adviser Panel. I advocate a service improvement agenda eg Cancer Services Collaborative with ‘direct to test’ with ‘one stop haematuria clinics (2001) and abnormal CXR to CT (2002) and London Breast Screening Administrative Hub (2016) I have a research interest in breast imaging including tomosynthesis, contrast mammography, MRI, screening and intervention. Current research portfolios include PROSPECTS, BRAID, SMALL and Artificial Intelligence (AI). I am the North Thames CRN (Clinical Research Network) Research Specialty Lead for SPED (Screening Prevention and Early Detection) and also a member of the NIHR Imaging Research Delivery Group.
