Executive Summary: Experienced Technical Author with a background in mechanical and electrical engineering in heavy plant and railway environments. Detail-orientated and analytical, adept at creating processes and procedures that improve safety and productivity. Proven history of working in demanding and pressurised environments while adhering to production targets and deadlines, maintaining high standards at all times. Adaptable to change and able to liaise and communicate at all levels. Career Narrative: After the completion of 24 years’ service in the Armed Forces managing fleets of specialist equipment and people I joined Amey Rail. The safety critical nature of the railway environment appealed to me. I worked up from OTM Driver – Operator to Team Leader, Works Planner and Construction Manager. I carried out other safety roles such as Controller of Site Safety (COSS), Lift Planner and Load Examiner Specialist Vehicles. I wrote methodology, time - motion studies, task briefs and risk assessments for machine and project improvements to increase production and capability. After my contract with Amey finished, I joined Schweerbau as an OTM Maintainer before changing roles to Technical Author. I have improved processes, documentation, general fault recording and recording of safety critical component maintenance, as well as carrying out training needs gap analysis and producing training materials. I appreciate the opportunity to learn new things and improve safety. Additional Information: I am a qualified Trainer, Assessor and Motor Vehicle Technician, including HGV & tracked vehicles. I hold Level 4 qualifications in Mechanical Engineering (HNC with distinction) and Leadership & Management (LCGI). I have completed courses in Technical Writing, Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe InDesign.
