I have worked in IT for many years administrating Windows Server and Windows PCs. Occasionally people would ask me about starting a career in IT and I always recommended that they consider Cybersecurity. Several years ago, I had the opportunity to take my own advice when I found a Cybersecurity program at the community college. I greatly enjoy my studies and work in Cybersecurity because it builds on my IT experience and adds the adversarial dimension of defender versus attacker. I recently started training to become a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).I have experience with vulnerability scanning and management using Rapid7 InsightVM and endpoint protection and threat hunting with CrowdStrike. I served as a member of the Incident Response Team to remediate and document incidences. I have experience with include Axonius for data aggregation and reporting KRI/KPI to infrastructure teams and management. I evaluate potential phishing emails submitted by users or reported by ProofPoint and remove emails from the mail system with Office 365 ATP. I run monthly phishing education tests on the employees of all BUs using KnowBe4 and give remedial training for the people who fail. I run yearly and new hire Cybersecurity Awareness Education programs and Cybersecurity Awareness Month activities.
