Bill is a global executive with P&L responsibility across all functions in small and large, and public and private companies in the semiconductor and energy industries. He creates world class teams delivering 2x or more growth. Thinking like an owner he drives his teams to create value while doing more with less. Customer focus is part of his routine spending time with customers and sales teams to meet and exceed customer requirements. He knows his financial numbers and measures the progress of strategic initiatives to monitor the organization’s health to address performance issues early while being sure employees have the tools they need to be successful. Bill knows that the time to opportunity is critical which means that empathy occasionally must take a back seat to urgency. In his VP roles with Agilent and Keysight and leading strategist role at KLA-Tencor, Bill led his teams to pioneer innovations leading to significant advancements in capabilities of inspection and lithography platforms to enable IC process shrinks and enable the advancement of Moore’s Law. Earlier, Bill had a successful career with Baker Hughes becoming the VP leading the company’s operations in Europe, Africa, Middle East, and Asia. Bill delivered high value solutions such as new horizontal well completion technologies and vastly improved offshore spill prevention systems. Having vast experience in cyclical industries, Bill is diligent in measuring financial results to deliver increasing shareholder value from cycle to cycle. He has led acquisition integrations with bold moves to realize synergies and founded two companies in energy related markets. One of the two start-up companies, Authentix, on a growth trajectory was acquired by a private equity firm. Bill is a win-win negotiator having closed customer-funded technology-development contracts, M&A deals, long-term sole-supplier contracts with customers, and technology vendor contracts for assurance of supply.
