About William Weller

As the General Manager of Colony West Country Club in Tamarac, Florida, I oversee and manage a 36-hole golf club and banquet facilities. During my tenure, I've hired four department heads,~20 support staff and project managed a 3200 square foot facility with an 1800 square foot restaurant with $3M+ top-line revenue and ensured operational efficiency within 90 days. As a General Manager, I wear many hats. Passionate about providing guests and employees a positive experience, I lead by example. Organized, tenacious, and a "can-do" attitude go a long way to making things happen. In addition, my unique skill set translates to a keen eye for success in the hospitality industry. I have transformed underperforming courses to profitability and sought-after institutions at each of my career stops. Hand-selected to facilitated change through executing on ideas, adding value, and streamlining processes and procedures while delivering an exceptional guest experience, I guided multiple clubs and courses to award-winning institutions. One of my favorite parts of my job is serving as a coach, mentor, and trainer, being a "go-to" resource, to help my clubs and colleagues achieve success. As a leader, I cultivate a culture of engagement and productivity while celebrating my employees' achievements. While I began my career as a chef, I quickly realized that I enjoyed differing viewpoints on what it takes to "rise above" in the hospitality industry. I like to assess, analyze, talk through options, and then take action to make the entire organization better. I've been able to do just that at multiple golf courses and clubs from Colorado, Arizona, Illinois, and now in my current role in Florida. With a creative vision, combined with astute business acumen and natural leadership, I am proud of the awards I've helped earn for the clubs I've transformed and the legacy that I've left behind as I've moved through my career. When I am not working, I enjoy learning new languages, exercising, traveling, and dancing.
