About William Wills

I’m a full-stack developer passionate about building robust, user-centered applications that harness the power of blockchain and decentralized technologies. Currently at Berkeley Compute, I’m helping build the Silicon Network — a liquid marketplace for buying and selling enterprise hardware — using blockchain infrastructure to enable secure, transparent transactions across the Ethereum and Chia blockchain networks. In this role, I’ve designed and maintained relational databases in PostgreSQL via Supabase to track earnings performance and hardware ownership. I’ve developed edge functions that expose performant API endpoints, enabling web clients for users to interface seamlessly with this data. On the front end, I’ve built dynamic user dashboards using React (TypeScript), Redux, and Chart.js, translating detailed Figma designs into responsive, production-grade interfaces. I also engineered a full-featured marketplace dApp from the ground up, supporting NFT-based hardware transactions on both the Ethereum Base network and the Chia blockchain. Previously, I developed distributed applications leveraging the Chia blockchain’s Datalayer to enable transparent environmental data tracking and carbon credit certification. I bring a strong foundation in systems and application development, with a degree in Computer Science from UMBC and hands-on experience in C++, Java, and embedded systems from roles at Survice Engineering, Allegis Group, and Taylor Digital Services. I value collaboration, clarity, and code that lasts. Whether it’s building blockchain infrastructure or crafting polished UIs, I’m driven by the challenge of turning complex ideas into elegant, scalable software.
