About William Wilson

Dr. Wilson has been in practice as a pain specialist for 22 years in the San Diego area. He completed his medical degree at Stanford University spent his internship in internal medicine at the Harbor UCLA Medical Center, then returned to Stanford for his anesthesiology residency. After a subspecialty fellowship with the Pain Consortium of Greater Kansas City, he returned to San Diego area where he now practices. Dr. Wilson is board certified with the American Board of Anesthesiology, with added qualifications in Pain Management, and the American Board of Pain Medicine. Dr. Wilson limits his practice to the diagnosis, treatment and management of pain from a variety of causes. Dr. Wilson locally volunteers as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSD and nationally serves as a Master Instructor with the International Spine Intervention Society (ISIS), teaching courses in diagnostic and therapeutic spine injections, as well as the implantation of spinal cord stimulation and spinal infusion system. He was active as a member of the ISIS Standards Committee in the development of evidence based guidelines for diagnostic and therapeutic injections. Before applying to medical school, Dr. Wilson worked as an engineer in the Aerospace industry, having earned his BS in Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT, Masters in Electrical Engineering at Rice University and Masters in Biomedical Engineering at Stanford. Other interests have included volunteer work with Interplast, a humanitarian medical organization, first as a pilot then as an anesthesiologist in Latin America, scuba diving and cycling.
