About William Winstone

I’m a founding Partner at Mezzana Partners. Mezzana are team development specialists and high performance experts. We work with multiple leading organisations, and have a heritage of working with Olympic and Paralympic athletes, teams and coaches. Behind all of that, I’m fundamentally interested in human happiness. What does it take to navigate our lives in a purposeful, satisfying, and meaningful way? As a John Lewis graduate trainee, I was inspired by their purpose, defined as “the happiness of their staff, through their worthwhile and satisfying employment in a successful business.” All of the work I do, from high performance sport to team and leadership coaching, is motivated by wanting to help people deliver progress and success, in a way that is also satisfying and meaningful on the journey. As well as the potential to do amazing things, humans also are skilled at tying themselves in knots and getting stuck, whether individually, or collectively. And in the case of very senior teams, this can affect the whole organisation. My work, and Mezzana’s work, helps teams and their leaders proactively “tune up” to be at their best, and recover quickly when they hit bumps in the road. As team psychologist with GB Para Rowing since 2010 and Essex Cricket since 2015, I have supported two of GB sports highest performing teams during their most successful eras. I apply the same approach to business teams and leaders to develop the self-awareness and emotional intelligence that they need to thrive in their working lives. I’m an APECS accredited executive coach and BCG qualified coaching. I'd love to connect.
