Background

About Willie Meeks

I have over 20 years of experience in a fast pace automated distribution environment where I have managed up to 100 employees covering various departments to include Inbound, Outbound, and order-filling and Inventory Management. In my position I assumed responsibility for the training and creation of all processes for a new business acquisition to include replenishing, picking, and shipping. I also served as the off-shift manger responsible for the overall safety and productivity of the shift as well as handling all personnel issues. I worked closely with Inventory managers to ensure inventory accuracy and Fill Rates were obtained. I believe that a company’s success depends upon the ability of your team members to grasp a problem, evaluate the best way to solve it, and then work until the solution is in hand. This is precisely the process I followed all four years to graduate with a 3.2 grade-point average. The 12 years spent as a soldier in the U.S. Army instilled in me the motivation and drive needed work full time while obtaining an Engineering degree. I am a self- motivator who believes that every process can be improved. It only takes the willingness to listen to those around you, the creativity to look at multiple approaches, and the desire to learn. Using these three concepts was the key to my success in the military while working on the most advanced attack helicopters in the world. I believe in team effort and feel that every aspect of a job must be sold to those who work with you. This was the approach I took while serving as Platoon Sergeant in the military and it has followed me in the civilian world.
