About Willow Wu

I am a Disability Adjudicator at Veterans Affairs Canada, where I research, analyze, assess and evaluate medical and legal information to render decisions on disability benefits for veterans. I have Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing Science from the University of Prince Edward Island, and I have over five years of experience as a Registered Nurse in acute and long-term care settings. My core competencies include rehabilitation nursing, medical-surgical nursing, oncology nursing, mental health nursing and home care nursing. In my current role, I use my nursing skills and knowledge to review and interpret complex medical records, legislation, policies, guidelines, and regulations, and to communicate my decisions effectively and empathetically to the clients. I work with a multidisciplinary team of medical and legal professionals, and I contribute to the continuous improvement of the decision-making process and the quality of service delivery. I am motivated by the opportunity to support the well-being and dignity of veterans, and to bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team.
