About Willy Aissi

Mr. Aissi has over 25 years of telecom experience and is the chief network architect for Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC), a U.S. company with $19 billion in 2010 revenue. He was the first engineer hired by TWC to architect and lead the development and the operation of one of the first carrier grade Voice-over-Internet networks (digital phone network) in the U.S. Mr. Aissi also provided leadership in conceptualizing and developing new products and enhancing existing products including new service delivery platforms, product road maps, product specifications, and product development as well as defining customer requirements. He provides strategic technical advice to TWC’s senior executives. In his TWC role, Mr. Aissi pioneered the introduction of the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) technology into the U.S cable industry. As a frequent guest speaker in various forums for IMS and fixed and mobile networks, he has been a foremost champion for the value proposition of these network technologies and how they can reduce capital and operating expenditures, while increasing ARPU (Average Revenue Per User). Prior to TWC, Mr. Aissi was the technical leader for the development and deployment of Cisco System first VoIP softswitch. Before Cisco, he was a senior engineer with Iridium, a global satellite communications service provider, responsible for the network’s stability and performance in Italy, the Middle East, Taiwan and Africa. He has also worked for Siemens Communications as a senior software engineer and technical leader and for Alcatel as a business communications software engineer.
