About Wolfram Schulz

Dr. Wolfram Schulz is Principal Research Fellow (European Business Development) and has been working at ACER since 2001. He has a university degree in Political Science and is Doctor of Economic and Social Sciences (Universität Rostock). Prior to joining ACER, Wolfram worked for three years as Associate International Co-ordinator of the IEA Civic Education Study and was co-author of its international report and co-editor of its technical report. From 2016 to 2018 Wolfram worked at the ACER UK office in London where he assumed the role as its Psychometric Manager. Since 2018 he is based in Hamburg (Germany). Wolfram is familiar with a wide range of statistical software and has experience in the analysis of large-scale survey data, sampling procedures and item response modelling methods. He is giving advice on sampling, scaling and statistical analysis to external clients as well as project staff and has supervised data analytic work for a number of national and international large-scale surveys (including the international OECD PISA surveys and numerous national assessments in Australia). Currently, Wolfram is International Study Director of the International Study Centre of the IEA International Civic and Citizenship Education Study (ICCS), which studies learning outcomes of civic and citizenship education across a wide range of countries. He was also co-director of the National Assessment Programs Civics and Citizenship from 2010 to 2016, and assessment coordinator for the IEA Computer and Information Literacy Study (ICILS 2013 and 2018), which assessed student ability to use information and communication technologies across different countries.
