About Won Yang

Won Mo Yang is a U.C. San Diego college graduate with a B.S. degree in structural engineering who is highly motivated and fulfilled his education with a focus in civil engineering. I believe that my problem-solving skills and innovative nature, coupled with my 10 years of experiences, will enable me to create a positive difference in society. During most of my college years, I have worked in school dining halls as an employee and as a student lead manager. Although many people might say that it’s a kind of job people don’t take seriously; I have learned much from my experience working with the varied types of people there. As a result, I have excelled my ability to work with others as team. I’ve learned that it takes trust and hard work to maintain teamwork so that productive outcomes can be achieved. Although it’s a dining hall where many people are employed in order to survive college, I often find joy in my work. It really makes my day when I make a costumer happy with my service and especially when they show appreciation for my work. After working there for a year, I was promoted to become a student lead, which gives me the responsibility to oversee entire workers in order to maintain a good service to customers. This position helps me improve my leadership skill, teaching me how to approach situations and that I shouldn’t misuse my authority for my own benefit. This work experience taught me to work in very dynamic environments because it has prepared me for many kinds of problems that have occurred during my experience.
