About Wouter de Jonge
In my scientific work I am interested in improving treatment and understanding of intestinal and liver diseases such as IBD, IBS, or PSC. My doctoral scientific training in medical science was at Utrecht University (Biochemistry, toxicology), at Hubrecht lab (prof Durston), Columbia University (NY), Amsterdam UMC, and Oxford University. Currently I serve as a professor of Experimental Gastroenterology at the AUMC Amsterdam and I have a part time position focussing on Neurogastroenterology at University in Bonn,(UKB) Germany. I am a fellow the American Gastroenterology Society (AGAF) since 2020. My lab studies various projects in translational Gastroenterology-immunity and microbiota/mycobiota-see Microbiota Center Amsterdam (http://microbiotacenter.nl)-Epigenetic programming of mucosal immune cells (I coordinated EU Horizon program "Epimac")-Early life microbiota and health in a Hoizon 2020 project, see: https://growth-horizon2020.eu/people -Industrial alliances to progress optimizing treatment efficacy in IBD (UC and CD).
