About Wouter Dieleman

As a PhD in biology with over a decade of experience across diverse industries, I aim to develop regenerative projects and contribute to nature conservation and restoration. My goal is to help businesses to better understand their relationship with nature, so nature becomes an ally in business strategies. I find passion in analysis, building robust systems and strategies, and realizing tangible change. As I have advanced my career, I have actively looked for different points of view to enrich my development and perspective: from conducting academic research in tropical forests to leading a sustainability certification program, working closely with stakeholders from producers to retailers. More recently, I’ve been supporting companies in navigating their nature-related challenges as a consultant. Currently I lead the Business & Biodiversity team at Arcadis Belgium. Our team specializes in biodiversity risk assessments, developing holistic strategies and practical action plans to improve business resilience while respecting nature. On top of my leadership role, I engage clients in hotspot assessment to identify high impact supply chains. This includes supporting businesses in developing an increased understanding of raw material related risks, improving traceability, and setting up regenerative action plans.
