As a teacher educator and researcher I am interested in the challenges and chances of teaching in heterogeneous settings. My research focusses primarily on social sciences [history, citizenship education, philosophy.] teachers' instructional design. I focus on questions related to curriculum, learning materials and teaching strategies in heterogeneous settings. In this field my focus lies at supporting teachers to use and valorize heterogeneity as a chance for learning. I worked with in-service teachers in multicultural settings in the city of Antwerp (Belgium) and Rotterdam (The Netherlands), and also with teachers in more traditional educational settings who are motivated to increase equity in their classroom.
