About Wouter van Inzen

Wouter van Inzen is director, clinical embryologist and head of the fertility laboratory of the Medical Center of Child wish of Leiderdorp, the Netherlands. After finishing celbiology at the Agricultural University Wageningen in 1989, he worked at the Hubrecht Institute, a research institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. First as researcher in the 'Embrytec' group and later on a PhD position which resulted in his thesis “Receptor Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase α and neuronal differentiation” in 1997. Meanwhile he started in 1995 started his training as a clinical embryologist at St. Elisabeth hospital in Tilburg. In 2003 he became head of the fertility laboratory of the reproductive center of the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam. He has always been convinced that patients which have fertility problems can be optimal treated in a private setting, and in 2012 he moved to the private clinic MCK Fertility Center Leiderdorp. The patient centeredness philosophy in the clinic inspires him highly and he would like to participate in the process of continue improving the results of the clinic with regard to the pregnancy results, but even more importantly the patient satisfaction. Already in the beginning of his career as clinical embryologist he was involved in quality management. He was author of the first end the second edition of "the model quality handbook for clinical embryology" for the Dutch Society of Clinical Embryologists. A second passion in his career is developing software for the registration and processing of data in a fertility center. Together with Dr. R.S.G. Bots (gynecologist) he was the founder of "FertiBase". Together with other gynecologists, clinical embryologists and STB (a software firm)"FertiBase" developed to a mature product and is nowadays called Landelijk Specialistisch Fertiliteits Dossier (LSFD),(National Specialised Fertility File) and is used in most of the Fertility Centers in the Netherlands.
