About Wune Li

I love to learn and to teach. I believe that only by sharing and cultivating true connections that we can create sustainable changes. Of course that we can order people to change what they do or how it is done, but only by changing together and working with "why" and the purpose behind it that we can create an environment of everlasting trust and companionship - That is my "why", the reason behind how I work the way I do. I started my career believing that my greatest asset was the fact that I had a good logical mind, the ability to organize information in a structural manner and create solutions around it. working as a programmer, bpm and data analytics, this skills was proved day by day. but I could see that something always made me a little different from my peers. I was always curious of why what I needed to do had to be done. And the answer of "because it is what we are paid for" was never enough. So I always questioned a little more than I should, trying to build a little more than I was asked and that led me to a fast paced professional path. In 2015 I joined Citibank in their trainee program. Even though I was considered relatively old (normally trainees are 22y-24y and I was 26y), apparently I showed values that surpassed the age gap. It was an extreme experience as they invited me to not only work outside my field (I had to do job rotations across business and areas not related to IT) but also I had to meet new people and social structures every month. In the end I managed to deliver a project where I mapped a risk measurement process between operations, sales and legal teams across Brazil and Tampa - with the analysis, I found active risks and I was able to make corrections on the process and build working groups to tackle those problems. That is when I learned that my analytical skills could be used outside the IT environment. After the trainee program, I joined the Markets Operations team. In a short time I became a focal point related to how systems works, processes and sometime even market products. My skill to learn and to teach was being used daily. In the meantime I tried to teach Excel and assist the VOE group. I always take gratification in helping others. Within 2 years, I asked to be prepared for a managing position and that is where I transitioned and practiced my soft skills. I left my old job and country in 2022. I loved the life I had, but it was not my dream life. Since day one I would introduce myself like "Hi, my name is Wune, I want to live and work abroad". Nice to meet you, I am Wune.
