About Xafsa Abdullahi
Since 2020 I have been working in the Mental Health Field. I started off working at group homes as a Direct Support Professional. I worked in that position for about 3 years while also doing IHS Services and working at Allied Healing Center. Due to my job at Allied healing center I have some experience and knowledge on Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention care. I'm also currently studying at St. Catherine to get my Social Work degree to hopefully work within my community and help provide more mental health resources and aid. Within the Somali community there is a taboo surrounding the topic of mental health. I hope that in the near future I can utilize my experiences and knowledge that I've gained to help support my community. I plan to do more outreach within my community as well as other communities living in similar situations.
