About Xander Gilbert

As an aspiring data scientist and experienced event producer, I am looking to combine my technical and creative skills through Data Science. Today, I have been certified in Data Science by Dartmouth and am practicing my skills as a Consultant at UI Solutions Group. I am excited to take a deep dive into machine learning and find new, creative applications of data tools. I am an adept problem solver and diplomatic negotiator with a history of solving problems collaboratively with key contacts including functional team members, external suppliers, directors, and client representatives. I graduated with a degree in Physics and led multiple organizations on campus, dramatically growing their reach and impact by redesigning their creative, social impact, and management strategies. My data skills include: General linear models (statsmodels, scikit) Visualizations and Analytics (ggplot, matplotlib, pyplot, seaborn, Tableau) Machine Learning (K-nearest neighbors, Random Forest, K-means, linear/logistical models, xgboost) My new experiences with data has ignited a passion for the tech sector and I am excited to continue pursuing data science professionally and as a masters student. My goal is to add to my technical experiences and to my data skill set, completing projects that help solve creative and technical problems. I believe data can be leveraged in marketing, medicine, and social sciences to have a positive impact in our communities.
