About Xander Hirsch

I have worked for multiple design firms, printing companies, and have been a freelance designer for 15 years. Art Direction, project research and conceptualization, pre-press operation, and label/packaging compliance for dietary supplements, foods, and cosmetics are areas I also have experience in. Plus I am skilled and trained in illustration, painting, printmaking, and photography. After getting a BFA in Fine Art, I decided to shift my efforts toward Graphic Design, so I got a BFA in Communication Design, which I now believe is my true calling. However, I have not stopped making fine art because my art work influences my design work and vice versa, and I believe that the distinctions between art and design are blurry. Also, I find it very useful to use my traditional art skills when designing, because I am able to sketch ideas quickly yet accurately. Plus, when the job calls for it, images that have elements created by hand never have exact duplicates, and I find that sense of individuality shines through in the final designs, even if it is subliminal. Specialties: • The design of brand identity systems, print materials, packaging, clothing graphics, and digital content. • Strategic marketing strategies and maintaining a brand’s visual consistency across all platforms. • FDA label and packaging compliance. • Product photography. • Creative and Art Direction. I work well in teams and with other designers to maintain focus on the best solution, whether it includes my design work or not. • Excellent communication whether I’m leading a team or playing a small role in a large team. I cherish my professional relationships greatly so I always strive to be professional and considerate of others at all times.
