About Xavier Duffy

I’m the Owner and Managing Director of ACT Decks, a building company focused on outdoor living within Canberra and the surrounding areas. In this role I lead the company’s overall business development strategy which includes a team of experienced carpenters, tradesmen and office administration. Before starting ACT Decks in 2014, I worked as a subcontractor for various builders both in the residential and commercial sectors of the building industry. I have been fortunate to work on significant buildings including Australian Parliament House and the Magistrates Court. I’m truly passionate about my work and always eager to connect with other like minded individuals. While I enjoy all aspects of my job, my favourite stage of a project is working with the client or business unit leader to understand the business objectives, budget and required deliverables. As we go through that collaborative process, the ideas start to flow and that’s always the fun part.
