About Xavier Gerard

Xavier Gérard is lawyer recognized as a specialist in tax and accounting law by the French Bar association of Brussels. He is mainly active in M&A and real estate transactions. He is the founder of a Belgian boutique law firm recognized as a pre-eminent player is real estate transactions in Belgium. His practice focuses on consultancy in the field of Belgian and international tax advisory and transaction work, as well as in accounting law. This includes advising on corporate, finance, tax and accounting aspects of acquisitions, restructurings (mergers, demergers, etc) and divestments, acting for corporates, REITS, financial institutions, public bodies and actors in the real estate sector. He also advises on setting up holding structures and tax efficient financing structures. Xavier also has an extensive experience in providing a full array of legal and tax services to non-profit organizations or public bodies. He taught corporate taxation at the Haute Ecole Francisco Ferrer (Brussels) and lectured on taxation of the non-profit sector at the University of Mons (UCL-Mons - Belgium). He is Affiliate Professor and scientific collaborator at the Tax Institute of the University of Liege (Belgium). He is speaker in several seminars and conferences related to taxes. Xavier is the (co-)author of several articles on the above subjects and of seven books on the taxation of the non-profit organizations and public bodies.
