About Xavier Jefferson

I am a Software Engineer based in Chicago with a B.S in Computer Science and experience in both QA automation engineering and Java development. At JP Morgan Chase & Co, I have designed and implemented test plans and cases for backend API functionality using Java and Postman, conducted functional and regression testing using Karate DSL and other internal testing frameworks, and utilized tools such as Jenkins to implement build automation and deploy code. Additionally, I have experience using Java Selenium for automation testing. In my free time, I have undertaken personal software projects to further develop my skills. One such project is a UDP calculator application that allows users to calculate different aspects of geometric shapes. I implemented this application using Java's socket library and designed and implemented a RESTful backend server that allowed for multiple clients to use the application simultaneously. Another project is a project creation script written in Python, which automates the project creation process across multiple platforms. The script includes functionality from Python's Tkinter library to provide users with a GUI to select a project destination directory and uses Github's REST API for repository creation and maintenance. In addition to my personal projects, I have taught myself application security concepts using Burp Suite and Python. I am a proactive, detail-oriented, and organized individual who seeks to bring creative solutions to complex problems. I am seeking opportunities to apply my skills and expertise in a challenging and dynamic environment.
