About Xavier Puente

An AmeriCorps Member for Weingart Center, Hope for the Homeless via Los Angeles Christian Health Center, and Homeless Healthcare Los Angeles. Initially provided outreach and public relations for Spanish speaking constituents at Los Angeles Christian Health Center (LACHC) I increased their client base by 7% within a two month period. At Homeless Healthcare Los Angeles (HHCLA), I am part of a consortium of nonprofit organizations (harm reduction, drug rehab, transitional and permanent housing developments, mental health, Catholic Charities, with needle exchange programs); city and county governmental departments, elected officials, and private businesses are working in tandem to help reduce chronic and transitional homelessness within the SEW Area (Silver Lake, Echo Park, Westlake, and Pico Union). Our mission is to help reduce homelessness by providing permanent housing to 15 chronically homeless clients within this area within 100 days. As of day 18, we have presently processed close to 72 applications, and permanently housed 3 clients.
