About Xiangyang Quan

As a Principal Technical Services Engineer at ANSYS, part of Synopsys, Inc, I bring over 25 years of experience in numerical analysis and simulation across a range of engineering disciplines. I specialize in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), composites, and structural analysis, supporting ANSYS customers and partners around the world with advanced technical services. Recently, my work has focused on the simulation of non-conventional metal forming techniques—including electromagnetic, hydrodynamic, and explosive forming—which offer significant potential for reducing manufacturing costs and improving product quality. I presented my research on this topic at the 2019 NAFEMS World Congress. Over the course of my career, I have authored or co-authored 24 journal and conference papers and delivered 14 technical presentations, including two keynote speeches at international conferences. My professional interests lie in the numerical simulation of nonlinear and extreme loading problems. I’m driven by a passion for applying FEA technologies to solve complex engineering challenges and helping industries develop better, more cost-effective products. I’m always eager to expand my skillset and collaborate with fellow experts in the field.
