Background
About Xiaoli Jiang
I obtained M.Sc. degree in marine structural mechanics at Wuhan University of Technology (WUT),China in 1998 and then became a teacher in department of naval architecture, WUT. Since June of 2003 to June of 2004, I was a guest researcher at department of civil engineering at university of Newcastle, Australia on engineering reliability analysis. Afterwards, I came back WUT and obtained Ph.D. degree on ultimate limit state based reliability analysis of ship structures in 2005. From September of 2006 to February of 2007, I was a guest researcher in department of maritime and transportation technology, TU Delft on inland shipping. Since June of 2008 to August of 2008, she was a guest researcher at Lisbon technical university, Portugal on residual strength of ship structures. I jointed in the department of maritime and transportation technology, TU Delft since March of 2010 as an assistant professor in section of ship hydrodynamics and structures. And since February of 2015, I has become an assistant professor in section of transportation engineering and logistics, department of maritime and transportation technology, 3mE, TU Delft. Structural integrity is a vitally important consideration in many fields of engineering, which has an influence on the full range of professional activities from conception, design and analysis, through operation, to residual life evaluation and possible life extension. My research interest is to assess and maintain the structural integrity of transport equipment in a proper way, accounting for aging(fatigue, corrosion), accidental (collision, dropping objects) effects and maintenance.
