About Xiaoye Yang

Hi! I'm Xiaoye Yang, a passionate educator and researcher committed to improving the realm of education through comprehensive research, evaluation, and innovative practices. My expertise lies in Education Evaluation, Program Evaluation, Computer-Assisted Learning, and understanding the critical component of a Sense of Belonging in education. I’m currently advancing my academic pursuits with a Ph.D. in Research and Evaluation in Education at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, with an expected completion in December 2024. My foundational education began in Hebei University, China, where I achieved both my Bachelor of Art in Literature with a concentration in English and a Master’s in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. These experiences laid the groundwork for my interest in bridging cultural and linguistic barriers in the educational domain. My professional journey has been diverse, with research and teaching being the central pillars. Presently, I'm working as a Research Assistant at the Center of Program Evaluation, University of Massachusetts Lowell, where I conduct program evaluations, deliver training workshops, and engage in high-level research projects on program evaluation methods. This role also involves closely working with Dr. Hsu, diving deep into literature analysis, qualitative data gathering, and manuscript preparations. My prior experience as a Research Assistant at the Department of International Education and Exchange in Hebei University equipped me with practical data collection and analysis skills. Outside the world of research, I’ve been honored to teach students across various age groups and cultural backgrounds. From being a High School English Teacher in Hebei, China, to an Online Chinese Teacher for LINGUABOX, and facilitating Mandarin classes at multiple institutions including the Confucius Institute in both the UK-Clearfield Elementary School and Western Kentucky University, my mission has always been to foster a love for language and culture in my students. Proud member of esteemed associations like the American Society for Engineering Education, and recipient of numerous accolades including the "K-12 Teacher of the Year 2018", I'm consistently inspired to contribute and grow in the realm of education.
