About Xing Yang

Chemical & Environmental Engineer, Membrane Technologist Xing is a passionate chemical engineer with in-depth knowledge and expertise in chemical processes, membrane separation, wastewater treatment and desalination technologies. Xing is a dedicated researcher with extensive experience on piloting of membrane processes for capturing values from wastewaters and Zero Liquid Discharge, as well as membrane functionalisation for environmental applications. She also has a unique skill-set in process simulations for energy and cost estimation. Xing has been successful in attracting over $1.8M research funding since 2014 from both national competitive grants (e.g, Australian Research Council) and other industry schemes (e.g, Innovation Connections Australia). She is experienced at developing intellectual properties including 58 peer-reviewed articles in high impact journals and international conferences. She is also the editor of Desalination and Heliyon Journals. Xing is a versatile professional with diverse multidisciplinary knowledge, and personal and professional interests in environmental issues, “green” events, and volunteer communities. She was the regional coordinator of the International Desalination Association (IDA) Young Leader Program (YLP) dedicating to the development of young water leaders. Xing strongly believes in sustainability and innovation, and takes the initiatives in applied & transnational research to solve real-world problems. She is particularly passionate about membrane technology, resource recovery industry, water and food processing. Therefore, she would continue her career pursuit, either as an industry expert/consultant or academia in the field.
