About Xurui Chen

My name is Xurui Chen, feel free to call me Cindy, I'm currently in the Biochemistry co-op (2025) program at McMaster University. I'm a passionate student with an interest in organic chemistry, biology, and psychology. I am interested in healthcare and biomedical research and currently looking for co-op, summer job, research, and volunteer opportunities in both labs and healthcare facilities to advance my knowledge. My work through organic chemistry and enzyme discovery has inspired me to further my education in the therapeutics and drug design industry, with a primary focus on pregnancy and preterm infant research. I am currently for ACE, working as a volunteer tutoring homework for one grade 5 student, subjects include math and science. The past year I volunteered in two senior connection groups, making videos and art works to reduce isolation. I worked in supermarkets and restaurants, which greatly improved my communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. In my spare time, I'm also a golden key member, enjoy cooking, and am able to solve a 3x3 Rubik's cube in 40 seconds.
