Yael Levitte is the Seniors Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Diversity at Cornell University. She oversees university-wide faculty development, working with faculty, chairs and deans on best practices for faculty recruitment, retention, and mentoring. She is involved in developing strategies for university-wide faculty diversity Innovative and effective leader with nearly 10 years of strategic planning of policies and programs for faculty development, faculty recruitment and retention as well as improving institutional climate.• Proven success in devising policies and programs to increase the representation of historically underrepresented groups among the academic ranks and to improve campus climate.• Collaborates and advises on communication strategies, highlighting faculty work and addressing campus crises.• Designs successful programs and grants to improve faculty mentoring pre- and post- tenure. • Proven ability to collaborate on policies and programs with campus partners, including vice provosts, deans, chairs, HR directors, communication directors, Sponsored Programs, as well undergraduate and graduate student professionals.• Successful in securing research funding from federal agencies (NIH/NSF) on topics related to the entry and retention of women in science.• Successful in managing alumni giving for faculty programming and research.• Speaker and facilitator on issues related to unconscious bias, and improving the climate for faculty, faculty recruiting and mentoring.
