About Yahia Hatem

As a senior-1 computer and communication engineering student at Cairo University, I am passionate about the field of digital IC design and eager to learn from real-world projects and challenges. I have developed my skills and knowledge in various aspects of digital design, such as Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog, and FPGA configuration, through both academic courses and extracurricular workshops. Currently, I am working as a quality assurance engineering intern at Siemens EDA, where I am responsible for validating and regressing RTL test cases for hardware simulation tools. This experience has exposed me to the industry standards and practices of quality assurance and verification, as well as enhanced my understanding of the hardware design flow and the simulation environment. Previously, I participated in the FPGA track of the NU Winter School, where I implemented a single-cycle RISC-V processor using Verilog and configured UART serial communication between the FPGA and a Bluetooth module. I also attended the digital IC design workshop organized by the Cairo University Student Branch, where I gained an introduction to the different aspects of digital design using Verilog as an HDL. My goal is to pursue a summer internship in the field of digital IC design, where I can apply my skills and knowledge, contribute to meaningful projects, and learn from experienced professionals. I am motivated by the opportunity to create innovative and efficient solutions for complex and emerging problems in the digital domain. I am also eager to expand my network and collaborate with diverse and talented teams.
