About Yaming Chen

Dr. Chen is a Senior Hydrogeologist / Modeling Specialist with 35+ years of experience in physical and contaminant hydrogeology. He is an expert in groundwater modeling for PFS/FS and EIA / permitting of mining & resources projects (e.g. pit dewatering / refill, seepage from waste rock & tailing storage) as well as groundwater contamination/remediation and risk assessment. His modeling work has been included in the Groundwater Modeling Guidelines of the BC Ministry of Environment in Canada. His work includes hydrogeology baseline characterization, environmental impact assessment, mitigation, groundwater contamination / remediation, monitoring, water resources, expert reviews, business development and management. He’s licensed as a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) by the EGBC in BC and the APEGA in Alberta of Canada. He has a Certificate of Project Management in Canada. He’s been selected as a senior hydrogeologist, respectively, by the BC Ministry of Environment and by the Department of Public Works and Governmental Services of Canada, for hydrogeological services. He’s successfully delivered many large resources development projects that have been rigorously reviewed and approved by regulators. He has rich experience in Americas, Asia, Australia and Africa. Recently, he’s expanded his expertise into GoldSim water balance modeling for mining. He’s a QP on hydrogeology & groundwater for National Instrument NI43-101 for mining projects. He’s a Responsible Registrant for hydrogeology with the EGBC.
