About Yan Molinos

As an entrepreneur and technology enthusiast, I am always looking for ways to innovate and make a positive impact on the world. Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by the likes of Nikola Tesla and Steve Jobs, and I knew that product design and entrepreneurship would be my future. After studying industrial design at the University of Montreal, I returned to Brazil and founded Koios 3D, one of the first companies in the country to manufacture 3D printers. In 2014, Koios was accepted into the COPPE business incubator at UFRJ, and in 2018, it was ranked among the top 20 incubators in the world by UBI Global. But our success did not stop there. In 2017, we expanded our focus to include the development of new machines, such as the first Brazilian ceramic 3D printer for the LAMO laboratory at UFRJ, and a cement 3D printer for COPPE at UFRJ, one of the first in Brazil. We are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible with 3D printing technology, and we are always looking for new challenges and opportunities to innovate. My commitment to sustainability and innovation also led me to found Plástico Precioso, a company that uses technology to recycle plastic waste into new materials. In 2018, we were recognized as a Top Ten Innovator by Royal Dutch Shell's Livewire international entrepreneurship program. This recognition is a testament to our dedication to creating sustainable and innovative products that benefit people and the planet. But my greatest accomplishment to date is the completion of a machine capable of 3D printing furniture. It is the largest of its kind in Latin America and represents a new era of circular consumption in the industry. I am excited to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible with 3D printing technology, and to continue building for the future with a focus on sustainability and innovation.
