Background

About Yang Chng

Hi there, I'm Yang. Thanks for visiting. I am an innovative third-cultured teacher with international experience in teaching Humanities/Social Sciences, Economics, and Business Management across the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Australian curriculum. With more than 8 years of experience teaching across a diverse range of school settings, including Australian public and private schools, international schools, and even a fully-online school, I have also held leadership management positions and actively contribute to various innovative school projects. As an educator, I am driven by a mission to better prepare young individuals to be changemakers and excel in an increasingly globalised and flexible work environment. To this end, my educational focus encompasses the following: 1. Fostering practical project-based and real-world learning in the Humanities/Social Sciences space 2. Cultivating a culture of innovation, leadership, and passion through entrepreneurial programs Aligned with my current work in education, I am a life-long learner and in recent years, I have been enthralled by the International Development field. I just finished my Master of International Development with La Trobe University in 2025 and my long-term career aspiration is to actively contribute to the sustainable development of local and global communities. The books that have shaped my thinking in recent years include "The Divide" and "Less is More" by Jason Hickel,"The Lean Startup" by Eric Ries, and "Prisoners of Geography" by Tim Marshall. If you share a similar outlook, it'd be great to connect! With warm regards, Yang
